Data Engineer Leader (Supply Chain)

Responsible for leveraging your expertise in both data engineering and retail business to build and maintain a data infrastructure within Microsoft Azure. You will design and implement efficient data pipelines, ensuring seamless flow and analysis for informed decision-making.

What success looks like:

  • Design, develop, and deploy data pipelines using Azure services like Azure Data Factory and Azure Databricks to ingest, transform, and load (ETL) supply chain data from diverse sources.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand their specific data needs and translate them into technically sound Azure-based solutions.
  • Build and manage scalable data lakes and data warehouses on Azure (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Synapse Analytics) to facilitate efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of supply chain data.
  • Implement robust data quality checks and monitoring processes within Azure to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data used for business decisions.
  • Develop and automate insightful reports and dashboards using Power BI to provide real-time visibility into key business performance metrics (e.g., forecast, inventory levels, lead times, transportation).
  • Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to explore and analyze data stored in Azure to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential risks.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Azure data services and tools relevant to the supply chain domain.

What you bring to the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with at least 1 year focused on retail business.
  • In-depth expertise in Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, and Azure Synapse Analytics.
  • Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python and SQL (including experience with libraries relevant to data engineering and Azure development).
  • Solid understanding of retail business principles and terminology.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing data quality checks and monitoring processes.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Microsoft Azure Data Engineer Associate certification (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • Mid-high-level use of Microsoft Office software.
  • 100% bilingual English-Spanish.
